extensive training

COOP Systems training approach is optimized for rapid project deployment for any size customer providing hands-on training. The standard approach is to train at a client site with train-the-trainer methods, saving travel costs and time for clients.

Short Duration

COOP Systems takes much less time than traditional systems. A week on-site is a typical timeframe for many clients. Larger clients with more integration and customization (always without coding) can take longer. In any case, Administrator training is 3-4 hours in a classroom, followed by work on the client's actual data. End-users take little or no training.

Stage 1 - Administrator(s) Training

The first users needing training are Administrator(s). With a downloadable administrative manual using screen shots, plus our browser-based tools, this classroom training generally takes 3-4 hours. Facilities required for Administrators are a small conference room with PCs or laptops and projector screen, a printed Administrator Manual for attendees, followed by sign-off on training.

For very large clients, there is sometimes a need for Senior Administrators to have complete training and design session before other Administrators are trained.

Stage 2 - Design/Configuration Data Migration Plan

At this stage, Administrators put their training into practice in the following areas:

  • Design/Configuration:
  • Create desired look and feel for the site including colors, logos etc.
  • Build site hierarchy to reflect planning organization structure.
  • Build document libraries to capture plan details.
  • Build lists/datasheets with the desired fields/columns and views to make facilitate data migration.
  • Verify structure is accurate.
  • Data Migration:
  • Analyze data to determine what will be used.
  • Determine current constraints and quality issues.
  • Upload documents and files types into the correct document libraries.
  • Migrate all structured (tabular) data into the correct list/datasheet.

Stage 3 - System Test/Pilot Phase

  • Overall system performance testing is conducted to conform to published specifications:
  • All required functionality tested to verify working as expected.
  • Review of the design to verify look, feel and desired results of the data migration.
  • Overall system tested from end to end based on performance, response times, capability and that it works as expected.

Stage 4 - Contributor and Read-Only Training

This is done by Administrators once plans are organized. Customers generally plan for 15-30 minutes in a Web-based or in-person session showing these light users how to locate and change their planning content, respond to surveys, interact with Task Management, etc. Some users do no training, relying only on e-mailed instructions.
