Tom Weems is president and CEO of PreEmpt, Inc, a Dallas based consulting
group. Since founding the group in 1995 he has assisted in developing and
implementing more that 300 Continuity Plans in the private and government
sector.
Mr. Weems is certified as an instructor for the Disaster Recovery Institute
International, regularly presents instruction sets for that Institution on a
contract basis, and has assisted that group in rewriting the CBCP
certification exam. Tom periodically contributes articles to major business
continuity publications, and provides business continuity training through
publicly offered courses and in-house training.
A strength that has proven to be extremely valuable in today's changing
world is Tom's ability to satisfy various business continuity legislative
requirements such as those required by PDD 65 (COOP), HIPAA (Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1995), and SOX
(Sarbanes-Oxley).
Mr. Weems attended the University of Texas at Arlington majoring in
Mathematics. He has a Programming Certificate from Brantley Draughon
College. Mr. Weems is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
and a Certified Disaster Recovery Institute International Instructor.
